Getting into nature
The last resort hut is perched high on the hill next to Pūkaha Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre. It is on approximately 150 hectares of farmland and regenerating bush.
It takes between 25 and 40 minutes to walk to the hut from the front paddock.

Walks and Birdlife
The views are pretty wonderful from the hut and other vantage points on the property and you can hear and see many birds including Tūī, Kererū, Pīwakawaka, Tomtit.
Sometimes you can even hear Kiwis calling from Pūkaha next door.
There are walking tracks out to the back of the property.

The hut
The hut has the very basics with a double bunk bed, single bunk and pull out sofa. There is a log burner, a composting toilet and a washroom/ shower hut out the back.
There is no running water nor electricity.

Short term stays
The owners are offering the hut for short term stays for walkers who want to get away in nature for a night or two.
They ask in return that the property, hut and neighbours are respected and that you stay safe.
